{"id":28192,"date":"2026-04-09T22:46:04","date_gmt":"2026-04-10T02:46:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fluvannareview.com\/?p=28192"},"modified":"2026-04-09T22:46:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T02:46:08","slug":"after-34-years-in-radio-sherry-taylor-signs-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fluvannareview.com\/2026\/04\/after-34-years-in-radio-sherry-taylor-signs-off\/","title":{"rendered":"After 34 years in radio, Sherry Taylor signs off"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Fluvanna Review <\/em>Staff<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For nearly two decades, the morning commute in Central Virginia has been defined for many by a voice that felt as much like a friend as a radio personality.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But after 34 years in the industry and 18 years at Z95.1, Fluvanna County resident Sherry Taylor has officially signed off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taylor\u2019s final episode of \u201cSherry\u2019s Show\u201d aired Friday, marking the end of an era for the Charlottesville Media Group.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Known for her warmth and the daily &#8220;Impossible Trivia&#8221; segment, Taylor\u2019s departure leaves a significant void in the local morning routine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou know how they always say a lady knows when to leave,\u201d Taylor told Cville Right Now. \u201cI\u2019ve just gotten to the point where I think, \u2018You know what, I\u2019ve had a good run at it.\u2019 I\u2019ve enjoyed it. I feel tremendously blessed to be in this industry and to meet other people who are just as weird and wacky as I am.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her career began at age 19 while she was a student at PVCC. Over the decades, she became a fixture in the community, not just for her music but for her heart, frequently supporting local charities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI want to be as authentic as I can, and I want to be kind to people,\u201d Taylor reflected. \u201cI think just being a mom and talking about things that I thought were hilarious at home helped me find my voice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While she is retiring from the morning show to spend more time with her husband, Chuck, and her grandchildren, Taylor isn&#8217;t leaving the area.
